Matt is a driven and creative cinematographer from Stratford, Ontario, living and working in Toronto, and working towards a BFA in Film Studies from Ryerson University.
Originally working as a corporate and commercial videographer, he found himself gravitating towards camera and electric, moving into the world of narrative film and web series. Now, he works as a director of photography, gaffer, and colourist on various independent productions in and around Toronto.
Matt's work has been featured on the CBC and been recognized by a number of festivals, including the Milton Film Festival and the British Film Institute's Future Film Festival. This past year, Matt's directorial debut, Last Train, took home the "Best Canadian Film" award from the Take 21 Film Festival, as well as being acknowledged with a Vimeo Staff Pick.
When not working, Matt dabbles in makeup design, fosters his addiction for online trivia quizzes, and partakes in the sport of "dogspotting".
